Overview
What is an evidence board?
Evidence Board:
An overview of all collected findings (evidence, facts) in the context of a User Journey.
It helps teams visualize and analyze user behavior, needs, and pain points to make informed decisions.
Structure of an evidence board
An evidence board includes the following elements:
User journey
- Persona: who is using your product and service?
- Job: what job does this persona want to get done?
- User journey: what are all the steps required to complete the job?
- Product / service interaction: which steps are accomplished using your product and service?
Job map
An evidence board can also be based on a job map or be a combination of a user journey and a job map. All these techniques can easily be combined.
Collected evidence
- Issues: what are the observed problems / challenges?
- Gains: what has been validated and you should keep doing?
- Workarounds: what workarounds have been observed to overcome issues?
Each evidence item is directly mapped to specific points within the user journey, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the user’s experience and the opportunities for improvement. This approach ensures that all findings are systematically organized and analyzed, facilitating better decision-making and support prioritization of opportunities.
Evidence cards
For each evidence item record the following minimum data:
- Date
- Persona
- Situation
- Concrete observation
- Interpretation and / or assumption
